“Blown-in” or “blown” insulation can significantly improve the insulation value in your unfinished attic, preventing heat loss through the roof of your house and helping to keep your home energy costs under control. Blown fiberglass and cellulose are the two materials used for blown insulation. They have similar R-values, and both are considered “fluffy” insulation.
These two materials use the same method for installation: A blowing machine is kept outside the house, and the insulation is blown through a flexible hose by a skilled technician, who can direct the insulation to exactly where it’s needed. Installation is relatively fast.
Another benefit of blown-in insulation is that it can be blown into concealed areas, such as wall cavities. Instead of ripping out walls to insulate, then having to re-build the walls, with blown insulation you simply make a small hole in the wall and blow the insulation in. The hole can be patched very easily, and with a lot less expense than building new walls.
When you upgrade both your air sealing and insulation, you could reduce your heating and cooling costs by up to 40 percent, making the one-time investment highly lucrative in the long run. Unfinished attics and crawl spaces can be air sealed and properly insulated for an affordable price and save you thousands of dollars over the years on heating and cooling costs.
When the time comes to install insulation in any type of building the question of electrical wires come up. Insulation can safely be laid or blown in over electrical wires. Common electrical wires are electrically insulated and are typically required to be installed before insulation is installed. When insulating around existing wiring, it is important that insulation fills as much space as possible.
Having proper insulation can help increase your comfort, save energy, and improve your home’s safety and durability. But the first step is to schedule an energy inspection to find out exactly what home improvement work is recommended for your home in all DFW.
Great service! Though I needed a new thermostat, they came out and actually needed a breaker in the furnace. Very professional and friendly. I recommend it to anyone.
I have used Norman Aire Services for the past 7 years and they have always been punctual, professional, and fair with their pricing. Sedric did a thorough service of my a/c and explained to me how to maintain my unit. I will definitely continue to use Norman Aire for all of my a/c & heating needs.
This is the type of company you want to do the job. They weren’t the cheapest quote I got but very competitive with their packaged deal. The professionalism of their service manager S.D. sold me. Now that the job is done I realize you don’t want the cheapest when it comes to HVAC installs and you get what you pay for. First-class from start to finish. Calls from Mary at the office 30 min before every arrival, call from owner Ed to make sure I didn’t have any questions.
Pros all the way. I have a 100year old house and was changing out a 20+ year-old unit. Not an inch of space was to spare through the attic and they had 3 guys working together not leaving a scratch. They only use the best equipment too (I got a Trane).
Would recommend them to anyone and will use them again. House has never felt better.
I’ve used and recommend this company to my neighbor, parents, and other family members. Why? Because they have excellent service, and they get the job done right. I usually see a guy name SD, and this man has so much knowledge, that he pretty much knows the issue of the problem then goes to diagnose the problem as well. My neighbor used him to install a brand new A/C unit, and I know mine will soon need replacing as well.
Nevertheless, everyone that I’ve recommended him to, has had no complaints, and they went with Norman Aire.
My ac was costing me hundreds now its blurring like a kitten and saving big time! Norman Aire is the ONLY way to go for me. The service is exceptional and their knowledge of the equipment and warranty is thorough.
